Yana Borissova

Yana Borissova is a writer, dramatist and script writer. She writes plays, books, short stories and film scripts while also tutoring creative writing courses. She is the author of over fifteen theatrical pieces. Among her most recognizable works are A small Play for Children’s Room, Plesantlyscary, The People of Oz, For you, Mister Night, On Air, as well as the novel A Peculiar Summer Night. Yana Borissova has numerous award nominations for Ikar and Askeer the last of which is Ikar 2021 nomination for her latest play The Sea After You. She is a laureate of the Ikar (2008, 2010, 2014), Askeer (2010), Independent Critique Award, Short Play Award, Golden Quill award, New European Drama award among others. Her texts are staged and published in Bulgaria, Belgium, France, Serbia, Russia, Argentina, USA, Italy and Germany. Yana Borissova also works as a dialogue consultant, editor, playwright, script doctor in cinema and television. In the last few years she is also involved as a culture manager and a consultant in numerous projects, performances, art campaigns, coactively with some of the most prominent artists in Bulgaria and Europe.
