Juliana Roth is a professor of Intercultural Communication at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany. She was born in Sofia. After studying chemistry, she moved to Germany, where she studied Slavic studies and the history of Eastern Europe. Mrs. Roth graduated with a doctorate and focused on to the ethnographic research of Bulgarian everyday culture. She often resides in the United States, where she has anthropology courses and studies intercultural studies. She has been a visiting professor of Southeast Europe and Intercultural Communication at the University of Berkeley and at colleges in New Jersey and New York.
